Cow dung worth Rs 1,25,000 looted; Govt Official arrested
Chikmagalur: In a shocking case, cow dung worth Rs 1,25,000 was looted from here. On basis of a theft complaint filed by Animal Husbandry Department, local police have begun the investigation.
As per Police reports, cow dung worth Rs 1,25,000 from about 35-40 tractors has been stolen from Chikmagalur which falls under Jagati Police station in Birur district of Karnataka. The local police have arrested a superintendent from the Animal Husbandry Department.
As per the complaint filed at Jagati Police station, the missing cow dung was first put at Basur Amrutmahal. Then it was moved to another private land. The cow dung has been estimated to be of about Rs 1,25,000. The cow dung was supposed to be used as organic fertilizers in fields.
Joint Director of Animal Husbandry department had filed a theft complaint. The Jagati police took prompt action and have since arrested a superintendent from the same department. The report also mentions the name of the landowner on whose land the stolen cow dung was stored.
