Covid cases near 4,500 in India in 24 hours

India recorded a single-day rise of 4,435 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases increased to 23,091.

New Delhi: India has reported the highest single-day COVID-19 spike of the year with 4,435 new cases. With this, the number of active cases in the country has increased to 23,091.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 5.30,916.

The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 1.84 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 2.49 per cent, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The total number of tests done during the previous day is 1,31,086.

In the last 24 hours, 98.76 per cent of people recovered from the virus, with this total number of recoveries stands at 4,41,79,712
