Congress leader Twinkle Dagre’s murder was inspired by ‘Drishyam’

Indore: In a major breakthrough, police have solved the mystery behind the disappearance and death of 22-year-old Congress leader Twinkle Dagre.

Speaking about Dagre’s death, DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra said “The case has all the ingredients of the Bollywood movie — extra-marital relations leading to family tensions, murder and diversionary tactics by the accused to mislead the investigators and implicate the deceased’s parents and fiancé. The murder and the elaborate cover up was inspired by the Ajay Devgn’s movie ‘Drishyam.

Former BJP corporator (65) Jagdish Karotiya, the main accused left behind a false trail of evidences leading to Twinkle’s parents in an attempt to deceive the police. However, police got a major breakthrough after conducting a brain mapping test on the accused, who exposed how Twinkle accompanied the killers to an isolated spot where she was strangulated to death.

Jagdish said the police that he hatched a plot to kill Twinkle as his stay with her after she, who allegedly had an illicit affair with him, forced him did not go well with his family.

Speaking to the media about the crime, the DIG said, “Karotiya and his family called Twinkle to their farmland on MR10 after planning the murder. She was strangulated. Her body was kept in their SUV overnight and taken to a plot in Sanwer the next day where it was burnt. Later, the accused killed a dog on the same day and buried it in a pit dug up by the IMC workers and burnt Twinkle’s body just 100 meters away from the spot to mislead police.”

Police said that while planning the murder, the accused had meticulously thought of details to divert police’s attention and mislead the investigators. “They tried to show that Twinkle’s parents were the accused and threw her mobile in Badnawar town, where her fiancé lived, to implicate him,” he said.

Twinkle’s parents had filed an FIR with the police after not knowing her whereabouts. Later, expressing their displeasure over the investigation, they approached the court, that directed to form an SIT for investigation.

During the course of investigation, a Brain Electrical Oscillation Signature Profiling (BEOS) test was conducted on five people, including Twinkle’s parents and after sustained interrogations, the accused confessed to the crime and revealed that he received help from his sons Ajay, Vijay, Vinay and their close aide Neelesh alias Neelu Kashyap.
