CJI Gavai hails Yogi Adityanath as one of India’s most dynamic and diligent chief ministers
CJI B.R. Gavai praises UP CM Yogi Adityanath as one of India's most powerful and hardworking chief ministers recently.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai recently showered praise on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, terming him as one of India’s most hardworking and powerful chief ministers. The praise came when the CJI inaugurated a new advocate chamber building and multi-level parking complex at the Allahabad High Court, an Rs. 680 crore infrastructure development.
Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal reiterated CJI Gavai’s praise for CM Yogi Adityanath and termed Yogi Adityanath “one of the most powerful and hardworking Chief Ministers in the country”. CJI Gavai replied in a lighter vein and said that “Prayagraj is the land of powerful people,” as if referring to the legacy of the city.
The occasion brought the judiciary and government’s collaborative work into light. CM Yogi Adityanath promised enhanced assistance to advocates’ welfare, declaring approvals for legal complexes in seven districts with Rs. 1,700 crore being set apart. The advocate welfare fund was also raised from Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh, with the age limit for eligibility being raised from 60 to 70 years.
The newly opened complex boasts 2,366 chambers for advocates, a 14-story building with five parking levels, and six hundred floors that are for chambers, fitted with 26 lifts, 28 escalators, and four travellators. CM Yogi also appreciated the Allahabad High Court’s cooperation to help organize the successful Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, stating “it was possible because the High Court did not impose a stay on any key project.” CJI Gavai stressed the need for coordination between lawyers and judges, stating “Bar and Bench must work hand in hand to advance the wheels of justice.”
