Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh tenders his resignation

Raipur: Following the poor performance of BJP in the state in the Assembly elections, Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh tendered his resignation to the Governor today.

Singh met Governor Anandiben Patel and tendered his resignation letter to her following the poor result of the saffron party in the recently concluded state assembly election.

“I feel privileged to serve the state of Chhattisgarh for the last 15 years. I accept people’s mandate and I take responsibility for this loss,” said Raman while speaking to the newsmen adding “I congratulate Congress on this success.”

The counting of votes is though underway, the trend shows that Congress will in the state.

Till the filing of the reports, Congress is leading in 64 seats while BJP is leading in only 17 seats and others in 9 seats.

This year, the state assembly election was held in 90 constituencies of Chhattisgarh.

Singh led BJP to a victory in the 2003 state Assembly elections and since then he was the CM of the state.
