Central govt employees to get a DA hike soon, Check details

There is some good news for the Central Government Employees, they are likely to get a 3 percent dearness allowance (DA) hike in early 2022 under the 7th Pay Commission.

This time the employees of the central government will get a hike of 3 percent in their dearness allowance, the reports said.  The 3 percent hike could lead to an increase in salary of up to Rs 20,000 for government employees.

The DA for government employees under the 7th Central Pay Commission is calculated based on the basic salary of employees. The DA amount paid out is calculated by simply multiplying the DA rate with the basic pay of a government employee, and is then adjusted in the gross salary.

The current DA rate stands at 31 percent, after being hiked 3 percent in October, and by 11 percent in July. The DA makes a significant portion of a government employees’ gross salary.

The government typically increases the Dearness Allowance for central government employees twice a year, in January and July.

In October, the Union Cabinet raised the dearness allowance and dearness relief by 3% to 31%, benefiting 47.14 lakh Central Government employees and 68.62 lakh retirees. Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur confirmed this.

Apart from DA hike, there is also some other good news for the central government employees. According to the reports, the Union government is holding discussion to raise the fitment factor. The salary for all the public sector employees will also increase in case the fitment factor is hiked.

    We r hearing about increase in fitment factor from quite sometime but it is not being uttered by any minister so far.

    By the way it is old news. The fitment case is a old one Now the Government wants to please government employees so that the BJP government will get reelected in ensuing elections in 2024.

    these announcements time and again have increased commodity prices but an increase is yet to come. It will go on increasing and when an actual increase comes, again price increase will come so please do not mislead the market by harping on D.A increase time and again to attract readers. It will create problems for others.
