New Delhi: In a recent notification CBSE denied any changes in the class 10, 12 board exam 2025 syllabus, said reports on Friday. CBSE also informed that any information regarding policy changes is released by the Board through the official website and circulars.

The circular read as follows, “With reference to the news regarding a 15% syllabus reduction for Class 10 and 12 under the 2025 board examinations by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the conduct of open-book exams in select subjects, which has been published on various online news portals and newspapers, please note that CBSE has not made any changes to its examination system or internal assessment system, nor has any official notification been issued in this regard. Therefore, CBSE refutes the aforementioned news.”

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official notification on October 15 to principals and heads of affiliated schools about compulsory 75 percent of attendance for Class 10 and 12 students appearing for 2025 board examinations.

As per the Board’s guidelines, the students have to maintain at least 75 percent attendance so that they can appear for the board exams. Certain exceptions can be ruled out such as medical emergencies, participating in national/ international sports event, but should provide proper documents and submit to the board. However, the schools have been directed to communicate the compulsory attendance rule to the parents and the students and if they are not able to attend, they should also know the repercussions.

The CBSE has also issued a warning that if any school found with students absent without appropriate leave documentation during surprise inspections will be held accountable for failing to ensure regular attendance. Such students may be barred from appearing in the board exams. After the attendance records have been submitted to the CBSE board, no revisions will be allowed and attendance will be calculated up to January 1st of the academic session.
