Caught smoking, class 8 students bludgeon classmate to death in Delhi
Delhi Police arrested 2 juveniles for murdering their 12-year-old classmate after he caught them smoking cigarettes on the school premises.
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, Delhi Police arrested two juveniles accused of murdering their 12-year-old classmate. The body of the victim was found dumped in a drain near a government school in Badarpur, Delhi.
On Friday evening, a PCR call was received by Delhi Police, reporting the discovery of a schoolchild’s body floating in a drain. The victim was identified as a class 8 student at an MCD school.
When the police team reached the spot, they found the boy lying in a drain in his school uniform. A school bag containing textbooks and other study materials was also found on the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo stated that in addition to the schoolbag, four to five blood-stained stones and a cotton towel stained with blood were discovered about six yards away.
On further investigation, the police found multiple head injuries in the body, apparently caused by a blunt object. The presence of stones nearby indicated that the stones were used for the crime, said the Delhi police.
After the medical examination, it was found that the child had been bludgeoned to death with a blunt object. Further investigation revealed that the victim had found that the two juveniles smoking cigarettes on the school premises. To which he threatened to report them to the school authorities.
The accused then lured him to an isolated spot and assaulted him, resulting in him sustaining several head injuries that eventually proved fatal. The victim was later found dumped in the nearby drain.
The boy’s family has confirmed his identity. According to them, the boy attended school on Thursday but did not return home after classes were finished. They soon launched a search for him, failing which, they informed the police about the same. Sometime later, the body of the young boy was found by the police.
Soon after which the police registered a case and started investigating the matter. After analysing CCTV footage of the area, they got to know about the accused.
The police apprehended the two boys and presented them before the Juvenile Justice Board for their involvement in the murder.
