Caught on CCTV: Kolkata sexual assault-murder accused spotted with earphones at crime scene

Kolkata: The prime accused of the Kolkata sexual assault and murder case was spotted entering the hospital before committing crime on CCTV footage. The footage has been shared by the investigators of the case.

In the CCTV footage, the accused Sanjay Roy can be seen entering the hospital at around 1.03 am. He case be seen having a Bluetooth earphone coiled around his neck.

Reportedly, the cops found the Bluetooth earphones from the crime scene during initial investigation after the body of the victim was found inside the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

During the interrogation, the clip was shown to him, following which Sanjay Roy admitted to the crime. Reportedly, before visiting the hospital, Sanjay Roy had gone to two brothels in Kolkata. He went to the red light area Sonagachi on August 8 night, drank alcohol, and visited two brothels one after another

In the CCTV footages, he was also seen entering and leaving the seminar hall, where the junior doctor had gone to sleep. It is worth mentioning here that a special court in Kolkata allowed the polygraph test of the accused yesterday.

The court has also given permission to conduct the lie-detection test on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the medical college, and four other doctors who were on duty at the hospital in the intervening night of August 8 and 9.

It is worth mentioning here that nationwide protests by doctors are underway against the rape-murder case in the capital city of West Bengal. The body of the 32-year-old woman was found in the seminar hall of the government-run hospital, RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata under mysterious circumstances at night of August 9.
