Budget session of Parliament begins today

New Delhi: The budget session of Parliament is set to begin on Thursday. It will commence with President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to the joint sitting of both the Houses in Central Hall at 11 AM. The session will continue till February 13.

The Budget will be presented tomorrow. It will be last of the Narendra Modi government which came to power at the Centre in 2014.

The session will likely to witness some noisy moments as the government is set to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the triple talaq bill among others.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan held an all party meeting last evening. Briefing media after the meeting, she said, all parties have assured their co-operation in smooth conduct of the Lower House. She urged the members to raise issues of national importance.
