BJP’s Basudev Pati joins BJD

Balangir: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Basudev Pati joined the state ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today ahead of the forthcoming 2019 elections.

Pati joined the conch party along with hundreds of his supporters in the presence of party’s State vice-president Ananga Udaya Singh Deo and MLA candidate Arkesh Narayan Singhdeo at Sibtala of the district.

Notably, Pati had contested from the Balangir Assembly Constituency as BJP candidate in 2009 and 2014 elections unsuccessfully. While BJD’s Ananga Udaya Singhdeo had defeated Basudev in 2009 polls, Congress’ Narasingha Mishra won over him in the 2014 elections.
