BJP, JD(U) & LJP finalise seat sharing arrangement in Bihar

New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) finalized their seat sharing for the 2019 Lok Sabha election on Sunday.

While the BJP and the JD(U) will contest on 17 seats each, the LJP on six seats. Besides, the NDA will also nominate LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan to the Rajya Sabha.

“The BJP and the JD-U will contest 17 seats each while the LJP will contest six seats in Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” said BJP president Amit Shah while addressing the media here today.

“We will contest under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hope to do better than 2009 and 2014,” he added.

Paswan and his son had met BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Friday.

BJP needed to keep Paswans close by all means after Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Samtaa Party (RLSP) ended its relationship with the NDA in Bihar and joined the grand alliance of the Congress and Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) recently.
