Baliguda/Cuttack: Hundreds of BJP and Congress activists from Sudra gram panchayat under Baliguda Tehsil in Kandhamal district joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today.
All of them joined the state ruling party in the presence of BJD’s Block president Tuna Das and other local senior leaders of the party. They also thanked BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for fielding Dr. Achyuta Samanta from Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat.
“Influenced by the developmental works of honourable CM Naveen Patnaik in every village and welcoming Dr. Achyuta Samanta’s candidature, hundreds of BJP and Congress party joined the BJD today. I welcome them to the party,” said Tuna.
Likewise, senior Congress leader and former All India Congress Committee (AICC) member Sibendra Kumar Hati left the grand old party and joined the conch party along with his supporters.
Hati joined BJD at a special program which was held at Mohan Mandap Lodge in Cuttack today. Barabati-Cuttack MLA Debashish Samantaray and Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Prabhat Biswal welcomed Sibendra and his followers to the party fold.
