A techie died after a car she was travelling in with her family got stuck in neck-deep water at KR Circle underpass in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A techie died after a car she was travelling in with her family got stuck in neck-deep water at KR Circle underpass in Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Bhanurekha, 22, working at Infosys.

The accident took place after heavy rain pounded the city Sunday afternoon.

The fire and emergency services personnel saved five others of the family and the driver, with the help of locals and were immediately rushed to St Martha’s hospital. The doctors declared Bhanurekha as dead.

Learning about the incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah rushed to the hospital and took stock of the situation. He announced a compensation of Rs five lakh to the relatives of the dead and free treatment for those admitted in the hospital.

Later, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah met the family members of Bhanurekha who lost her life in the waterlogged underpass in KR Circle area in Bengaluru.

An FIR was registered at Halasuru Gate Police Station regarding the death of a 22-year-old woman after a complaint was filed by her brother Sandeep.
