Athletes asked to wrap training by 7 PM at Delhi stadium as IAS officer walks his dog

New Delhi: In the case of athletes and coaches forced to wrap training by 7 PM at a stadium in Delhi so that a certain IAS officer can walk his dog there after half an hour, the said IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife have been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.

As per reports, it had been complained that athletes and coaches who were training at the Delhi government-run Thyagraj Stadium were being forced to wrap training earlier than usual, by 7 pm. The reason, according to them, is this: Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar walks his dog at the facility about half-an-hour later.

Taking action in this case, the said IAS officer and his wife have been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.

Hours after reports about misuse of facilities at Delhi’s Thyagraj Stadium by senior IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife and fellow IAS officer Rinku Dugga, both were on Thursday transferred out of the national capital to different locations from Delhi on Thursday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred Khirwar to Ladakh and Dugga to Arunachal Pradesh.

As per the media report, the government-run Thyagraj Stadium was being closed for sports activities earlier than usual so that the bureaucrat could walk his dog at the facility.

The Home Ministry had sought a report from Delhi Chief Secretary on the report regarding the misuse of facilities at Thyagraj Stadium by IAS couple, and took action after he submitted his report.
