Assam minor girl sexually assaulted on way home from tuition

Dispur: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Nagoan district of Assam. The incident took place when the girl was returning home from her tuition on Thursday evening.

As per reports, some locals spotted the girl in an unconscious state by the roadside and was immediately admitted to Dhing medical unit in Nagoan district of the state for medical aid.

The locals then informed the police about the incident. The cops started an investigation into the matter.

Two people have been detained for the interrogation and search operation is underway for other.

Meanwhile, there were massive protests after the incident with Students Union and have also called a Bandh in the area today.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a “crime against humanity”. Taking to X, the CM expressed his outrage over the incident and vowed to bring the accused to justice.

“The horrific incident at Dhing, involving a minor, is a crime against humanity and has struck our collective conscience. We will NOT SPARE anyone & BRING the perpetrators to JUSTICE,” Sharma wrote.
