Asia’s premier Air show ‘Aero-India’ begins in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the 12th edition of Asia’s premier Air show ‘Aero India-2019’ at Yelahanka air force station here today on Wednesday.

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre, Karnataka Chief Minister, Air chief Marshal B S Dhanoa and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

As many as 61 aircraft, including HAL’s indigenous products LCA Tejas are all set to roar in the city skies in the five-day long biennial event.

Aero-India 2019 will showcase India’s air defence prowess. It will also act as a platform for aviation companies, the defence sector and government to forge new alliances and contracts.

The global event will witness participation from countries like Israel, US, UK, Germany, Russia and France to name a few.
