AR Rahman receives KISS Lifetime Achievement award in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed musician AR Rahman has been awarded the Life time Achievement award from Kalinga Institution of Social Sciences (KISS) here in Odisha on Tuesday afternoon.

The Grammy and Academy Award winning musician received the prestigious award from KIIT and KISS founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta at a special programme held at the world’s largest tribal residential education institution, KISS in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahman said, “KISS is amazing. If I would not come to KISS, I have lost a great chance to such organization,” adding that students should take advantage of this kind of organization.

He also thanked Dr. Samanta for his effort towards establishment of such kind of organization.

Among others R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS; Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS; Prof. H. K. Satapathy, VC, KISS Deemed to be University were also present on the occasion.

Rahman, who is behind the theme of the Hockey World Cup song, will attend the opening ceremony of Odisha Hockey World Cup 2018 at the iconic Kalinga stadium here this evening.
