Another low pressure expected to form in BOB, cyclone unlikely

New Delhi: A Low Pressure is expected to form in South Bay of Bengal (BOB) next week. However, cyclone is unlikely, informed International weather forecaster Jason Nicholls in his Twitter handle on Thursday.

As per the forecast, the South West (SW) monsoon withdrawal remains stalled but the same is expected to resume in the next day or two.

Also, the North Eastern (NE) monsoon is expected to commence in South India this weekend or early next week. As a result, a low pressure is expected to form in South Bay of Bengal (BOB) later next week. However, the chance of cyclone formation is not likely going to happen.

On his twitter handle Nicholls said, “SW #monsoon withdrawal remains stalled but is expected to resume in the next day or two. NE monsoon expected to commence in S #India this weekend or early next week. Low expected to form in S BOB later next week, but cyclone formation not likely.”

Jason Nicholls is a lead International Forecaster cum Senior Meteorologist. He is also the International forecasting manager of AccuWeather.
