Amit Shah diagnosed with swine flu; Odisha visit cancelled

Bhubaneswar: BJP President Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha on Friday has been cancelled, as the saffron leader has been admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi last night after being diagnosed with swine flu.

“I have been diagnosed with swine flu for which the treatment is underway. With God’s grace and your love and wishes, I hope to recover soon,” Shah tweeted.

Speaking to mediapersons here, vice-president of BJP’s Odisha unit Samir Mohanty said, “The party national president Amit Shah ji is suffering from swine flu. He was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi. In view of his health condition, his scheduled programme at Salepur on January 18 has been cancelled.”

“Once the new date of his Odisha visit is confirmed, we will inform about the same,” Mohanty added.

According to sources at AIIMS, the BJP chief reached the hospital around 9 pm and is admitted in the old private ward of the hospital.
