Active Covid cases in India crosses 3000 mark, Health Ministry reports four deaths in 24 hours

There are currently 3395 Covid-19 cases in India and as many as four deaths in all with one new death in Delhi.

The number of Covid cases in India is rising steadily. In the last 24 hours, over 3,000 cases and four deaths have been reported as of Saturday, May 31. States including Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and West Bengal have the highest number of active cases, according to the data collected from the Union Home Ministry.

According to the data from the Ministry of health, number of active cases in India were 3.3.95. The highest number of cases are in Kerala at 1,336 followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. According to the report, four people have died across the country in the last 24 hours.

According to the reports, 1,435 people have been discharged from the hospitals over the past 24 hours.

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 68 new Covid cases. Out of these, 30 were detected in Mumbai and 15 from Pune. Cases were also detected in the Kalyan-Dombivali and Raigad areas of Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Delhi has reported one death related to Covid-19 on Saturday. A 60-year-old woman died after testing positive for COVID-19. Even Bengaluru has reported one death related to COVID-19 on Saturday.

The Karnataka health department has issued public advisory, asking people to practise COVID-19 regulations.

The biggest problem with the JN.1 variant is that it spreads very quickly between people. It has an additional mutation that helps it enter cells and weaken the immune system. Many doctors have said that the JN.1 variant is not so dangerous and people do not need to panic.
