Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal also imposed a penalty of two lakh rupees on Dutt, who was convicted by the court last week.

Dutt, who represents Sadar Bazar Constituency here, was held guilty in connection with a case dates back to January 2015.

As per the case files, the legislator along with his 50-60 supporters went to flat No. 13 where the complainant Sanjeev Rana was present.

The complainant was beaten and assaulted by the accused and his associates due to which he suffered grievous injury, the court had said while convicting Dutt.

This is the second sentencing of a sitting AAP MLA in a week. Earlier this week, the court awarded three months sentence to Manoj Kumar, AAP legislator from Kondli, for obstructing poll process during the 2013 Assembly elections.
