9 children killed after wall collapses over them in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopl: In a tragic incident, as many as nine children were killed while several others were injured after a wall collapsed at a temple in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning. The incident occurred during a religious ceremony at Hardaul Baba temple in Shahpur of the district.

According to reports, a religious ceremony was underway at the Hardaul Baba temple when the collapse suddenly resulting in death of the kids age between 10 – 15 years on the spot. On receiving information, police reached the spot and initiated rescue operation with the help of locals.

Reportedly, top officials also reached the spot. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. Following the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and said, “I hope those injured recover soon. My condolences with families who lost their children. The government will provide each family with an assistance of Rs 4 lakh.”

It is worth mentioning here that the incident has occurred a day after four children died in a wall collapse incident in the state’s Rewa district. The deceased kids aged between 5 – 7 years were returning from school when the wall collapsed. Following the incident, the owners of the house, the wall of which collapsed, have been arrested.
