7th Pay Commission Latest News: This Decision To Benefit Central Govt Employees, Check Details

The central government made a big announcement under the seventh pay commission on the New Year. The government on Friday decided to extend the disability compensation to all its serving employees.

As per the announcement made by Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday, every government employee will get the benefit if they get disabled in the line of duty and are still retained in service despite their disability.

While making the announcement, Singh said that the extension of disability compensation will give a huge relief to those who are working in the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) especially in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF).

The new order is expected to remove an anomaly in service rules while considering the hardship faced by certain employees.

It is to be noted here that those employees who got appointment on or after January 1, 2004, and were covered under the National Pension System (NPS) were not getting the disability benefits as per the Central Civil Services (CCS) rules. However, according to the new order which has been issued by the Department of Pensions in the Ministry of Personnel, they will now receive the benefits under Rule (9) of Extraordinary Pension (EOP).
