5 charred to death as moving bus catches fire in Uttar Pradesh

As per reports, eyewitnesses said that the fire was so fierce that the flames were visible up to 1 kilometre away.

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, at least 5 people were killed after a passenger bus caught fire in Uttar Pradesh Thursday morning. The accident took place on Kisan Path near Mohanlalganj in Lucknow.

As per reports, a double-decker bus was going from Delhi to Bihar when it caught fire in Lucknow. There were 60 passengers in the bus. As it caught fire the driver and helper fled away from the scene.

The locals then rushed to the spot and helped the passengers to get out of the bus. They started rescue operation and informed Fire Brigade and Police.

After getting information, fire services personnel rushed to the spot with 6 engines and extinguished the fire.

Police seized the body and sent for autopsy.

According to the information, most of the passengers were sleeping at the time of the accident. The passengers woke up after the bus filled with smoke and tried to get out of the bus. Meanwhile the fire caught the bus and 5 people could not be saved and charred to death.
