Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) suspended 42 medical students for eight weeks on May 14 under charges of being involved in malpractice during internal assessment tests in their final year of MBBS. The 42 students, including six girls, were suspended for the time period from their classes as well as hostels.

In this case, some of the final year MBBS students asked their juniors to impersonate them for their undergraduate level internal assessment tests.

In terms of suspensions and punishments, this has been the biggest action taken against students after the 2006 incident where 105 students were suspended from the college following a huge scaled violence on campus.
