4 Militants Killed, 16 Civilians Injured During Clashes In Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: Four militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in the wee hours of Saturday morning at Pulwama in South Kashmir. As many as 16 civilians were injured in the clashes that followed the encounter.

A Cordon and Search Operation was launched by Security forces in Rajpora area of Pulwama after the army received inputs about the presence of militants in the area. The militants were killed after a brief exchange of fire with the security forces. The entire area has been cordoned off.

The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained by the security forces.

Following the encounter, clashes broke out at the encounter site in which 16 persons were injured. Officials said that the injured were rushed to various health facilities in Pulwama. One of the civilians, who sustained a bullet injury on his right hand was shifted to Srinagar.
