4 dead, 22 injured after truck hits bus in Pune

At least four people died and around 22 others were injured in road accident on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near the Narhe area of Pune city.

Pune: At least four people died and around 22 others were injured after a truck rammed into a bus on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near the Narhe area of Pune city on Sunday, police said.

In the early morning of April 23, an incident occurred between a loaded truck and a private bus on the highway.

The private passenger bus was heading from Satara to Dombivili in Thane when the truck rammed into it.

According to the officials, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, and as a result, it hit the bus.

Meanwhile, the injured people have been shifted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment, the police added.

According to the police, the private bus belonged to Neeta Travels Company, and the cargo truck was carrying a large number of sugar sacks.

Meanwhile, cranes and vehicles of the fire brigade are at the spot and are clearing the gunny bags from the road.
