4.0 Magnitude Quake Hits UP’s Shamli, Tremors Felt In Delhi NCR

New Delhi: Moderate tremors were felt in several parts of Delhi NCR on Wednesday morning after a 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit western Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli and Baghpat. The tremors were felt around 8 am in the morning.

While local media reports claimed that the depth of the quake was 5 km, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km.

Meanwhile, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake was also felt at Kofarnihon in Tajikistan on Wednesday morning. According to reports, the depth of the quake was 10 km.

Earlier this month, mild tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR after a powerful 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Hindu Kush mountain range along Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
