A 21-year-old devotee died after allegedly suffering an electric shock from a water-spray cooler installed outside the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan
Mathura: In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old devotee died after allegedly suffering an electric shock from a water-spray cooler installed outside the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura.
The deceased has been identified as Abhigyan Gupta, a resident of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. He had travelled to the temple along with his father to offer prayers.
As per reports, the incident took place near the temple entrance where a water-cooling had been installed for the convenience of visitors during summer.
As per CCTV footage, there was devotees moving normally, when Abhigyan appeared and came in contact with the cooler and lost balance. His father immediately came in to rescue and he collapsed near the installation.
The temple visitors and locals rushed the young man to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A doctor informed that the youth had suffered electrocution from the cooler at the temple premises.
