Haridwar: In a tragic incident, at least two people died and more than four others were injured after a bus fell into a gorge near Chandi Chowk on the Haridwar-Najibabad National Highway on Wednesday.

“Bus accident on Najibabad Road near Chandi Chowk in Haridwar. The bus was uncontrolled and fell 20 metres below the main road. The bus conductor and a 10-month-old girl have died,” said SDRF.

The Uttarakhand Roadways bus was on its way from Rupahiya to Haridwar at the time of the accident, carrying 41 passengers, police said.

“On receiving the information, SDRF and Fire Service personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured,” the police said.

“All the injured have been admitted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment,” said officials.
