2 CRPF personnel injured in IED blast in Jharkhand, airlifted to Ranchi

West Singhbhum: Two personnel of the 209 CoBRA battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sustained splinter injuries following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast.

According to reports, the blast occured during an anti-Naxal operation in the Saranda forest area near Jaraikela in West Singhbhum district at around 11 am today. The CRPF confirmed the above incident.

The Injured personnel were evacuated by foot to the Digha camp, from where they will be evacuated by chopper. Condition of both injured is reported to be stable.

According to latest information, the CRPF jawans injured in the IED blast have been airlifted and brought to Raj Hospital in Ranchi. Both soldiers belong to the 209 CoBRA battalion.

Earlier on May 5 in a tragic incident, as many as two STF jawans were injured in an IED blast at Chhattisgarh said reliable reports in this regard n Monday. Two STF jawans were injured in the blast near Karegutta Hills.

According to reports, the jawans were evacuated to Raipur for better treatment. Their condition is now reportedly out of danger, said Police official sources to ANI.

Recently on April 9, a CRPF jawan has been injured in a pressure IED blast in Chhattisgarh. The IED was planted by naxals in Bijapur, said reliable reports.

According to reports, the jawan has been admitted to a hospital. Search operation in surrounding areas is underway. The CRPF was out on area domination duty when the incident occurred.
