11 security personnel injured in IED blast in Jharkhand

Ranchi: At least 11 personnel of the CRPF and Jharkhand police were injured in a blast in Kuchai area of Saraikela Kharsawan district on Tuesday, reported news agency PTI. An improvised explosive device (IED) was reportedly detonated at around 5 am by Naxals while personnel were undertaking special operations.

According to the news agency, the IED blast occurred at 4:53 am when the troops of 209 CoBRA and Jharkhand police were conducting a special operation.

Eight men of the CoBRA unit and three personnel of Jharkhand police were injured, ANI said.

The injured officials have been airlifted to Ranchi. More news is awaited.
