Dharwad(Karnataka): Eleven people, including the driver and nine women died when their tempo-traveller collided with a truck on National Highway-4 near Itigatti village in Dharwad district of Karnataka on Friday morning.
The accident occurred at 7 AM.
Most of them hailed from Davanagere district, police said.
Seven were critically injured and have been hospitalised to Hubli’s KIMS hospital for medical treatment. The passengers were on their way to Goa from Davanagere.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and started the rescue operation. A case has been registered at Dharwad Rural Police station and investigations into the cause of the accident has begun.
