11 Dead After Consuming Suspected Spurious Liquor In Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh: As many as eleven people have reportedly died and five others have fallen ill  after consuming spurious liquor in the Sumawali and Manor police station areas in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

Sources said, many villagers consumed liquor which was locally made and started vomiting late at night, following which they were taken to the hospital. While ten people died on the way to the hospital, one died at the Morena hospital.

Sources said that four people in Sumawali and seven in Manpur villages died after consuming suspected spurious liquor on Monday night.

Several others fell seriously ill and they were referred to Morena district hospital and Gwalior medical college for treatment.

The postmortem is underway and whether the liquor was poisonous or not will be ascertained after the autopsy reports come, an official said.
