Panaji: In a tragic incident, a joyride turned into a nightmare as a tourist boat capsized in Calangute in Panaji district of Goa, said reports on Thursday.
According to reports, the lifeguard Incharge, Sanjay Yadav told ANI, “a boat capsized at the Calangute beach. We rescued 13 people in the incident. We don’t know the exact number of people but around six people from the same family who were stuck under the boat were in a critical situation. We don’t know the reason for the incident. Out of those six people, one has died.”
Later Laxman, a tourist told ANI, “When we came, Lifeguards, Medical team and Goa Police were attending two injured people. Then they were taken to hospital.”
Yet another tourist said that, “When we came to the spot, lifeguards and Police were trying to save two people who were in serious condition. We appreciate them (Goa police and lifeguards).”
