Mumbai: The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film ‘Kesari’ is finally out. Also starring Parineeti Chopra, the film is based on the battle of Battle of Saragarhi (1897) in which 21 Sikh Soldiers of the British Indian contingent fought against 10,000 Afghans.
All the 21 Sikh soldiers who fought in the Battle of Saragarhi were posthumously the Indian Order of Merit, the then highest gallantry award for an Indian soldier.
The 3-minute 4-second long trailer gives glimpses of the film, which retells the story of one of the bravest battle fought in the history of the world. Akshay Kumar nails his look of a Sikh warrior, who will go to any level to prove his patriotism for his motherland. Parineeti Chopra, who plays Akshay’s love interest in the film, makes fleeting appearances in the trailer.

Co-produced by Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Hope and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Kesari’ is directed by Anurag Singh, who has previously directed films like ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ and ‘Raqeeb’. The film also stars Siddhant Sharma, Ashwath Bhatt, Pawan Malhotra, and Rana Ranbir.
‘Kesari’ is slated for a Holi release on March 21, 2019.
