Privileged but not offended: Navya Naveli Nanda

Mumbai: Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and entrepreneur, recently took admission in IIM Ahmedabad. She has enrolled in the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) which is a two-year course suitable for working professionals. She shared this information on Instagram by posting a picture of her in the collage campus  wearing uniform.

People started trolling her assuming that she got into the college due to her fame. Few netizens accused her of leveraging her popularity of her family to get into the college.

She recently attended an event where she was asked about the trolls. To which she replied that, she has nothing to do with the trolls. She doesn’t take them seriously. She acknowledge her privilege.

Talking upon the trolls she said, ”Social media been a great tool that, if used in the right way, really has the potential to bring about positive change. Having said that, since you bring up IIM, I am extremely fortunate to be a part of such an incredible institution. I have made an active decision to put myself out there, to put my work out there. I don’t think I can be against or offended by things people have to say.”

Later she added, “I come from a very privileged family and got more opportunities than other females of my age. People will always have something to say, whether you do good or bad. I value feedback, whether positive or critical, to improve myself, my work, and my contributions as an entrepreneur and Indian. I use it to do the best I can.”

Navya often stays in the limelight for her own podcast “what the hell Navya” where she shares about her personal life with her family. She is also a women’s rights advocate, and founder of the non-profit Project ‘Naveli’.
