Mithun Chakraborty becomes victim of theft, Wallet stolen during campaign in Jharkhand
Dhanbad: Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty become the victim of a petty theft on Tuesday after his purse got stolen while he was campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming election in Jharkhand.
The actor was campaigning for the BJP candidate in Dhanbad ahead of the state assembly elections.
According to sources, the actor realised that his purse has been stolen while he was conducting a roadshow. The BJP leaders has appealed to the public to return the actor-politician’s wallet. A video of the appeal has been widely shared on social media.
Meanwhile, the incident has brought forth a new wave of squabble between political parities. The Jamtara unit of the Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM) took a jibe at BJP and said, “Dear BJP supporters, at least spare your own leaders. Mithun Chakraborty came to campaign for BJP, and someone picked his pocket. What an amazing famil.”
Later BJP claimed that the actor’s wallet was misplaced not stolen.
Earlier, Mithun Chakraborty led a massive roadshow in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district on Monday. He campaigned for BJP candidate Meera Munda, the wife of former CM Arjun Munda, in the Potka constituency.
