KBC 16: First Adivasi contestant Banti Vadiva stumbled on Rs 1 crore question

Mumbai: The popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16′, hosted by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, featured its first Adiwasi contestant, Banti Vadiva, who failed to answer Rs 1 crore question and took home only Rs 50 lakh.

Banti comes from the Adivasi community in Asadi village, located in the Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. He has completed graduation in BCA and is preparing for Grade 3 position under the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.

Upon hearing the question, Banti decided to play safe and decided to quit the game and walked away with Rs 50 lakh. After quitting, Amitabh Bachchan revealed the correct answer to the Rs 1 crore question and it is option C – Olympic Medal.

As Banti quit the game, Amitabh Bachchan congratulated him, and the studio audience gave him a standing ovation. Praising the young contestant, the actor said, On Teacher’s Day, Banti proved that it’s knowledge and wisdom that takes you places in life. It doesn’t matter where you come from, but what matters is the knowledge that you hold as reported by India Today.

Banti had revealed that when he came to Mumbai, he had only Rs 260 in his bank account, and after participating in KBC 16, he now has over Rs 50 lakh in his bank account.
