Baleswar, Mar 27: Alleging bungling of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) items and money, parents and guardians of the students of a government-run school blackened the face of a lady teacher at Banaparia in the district here on Monday.
According to reports, a lady teacher of the Banaparia ME School used to bungle the Mid-Day Meal items and money by maintaining wrong attendance records of the students.
Of the total 28 students in both sixth and seventh classes, only 15-17 students used to be regular in the school. However, the teacher used to maintain attendance of 40 students and used to syphon the money meant for the Mid-Day Meal of the students.
After knowing the matter, the locals mostly women detained the teacher on the school premises and smeared her face with black paint and ink. Besides, they made her to march throughout the village.
