‘The Intellects’ celebrates Raja fest in Delhi

'The Intellects' celebrates Prabasi Raja Mahotsab New Delhi: “The Intellects”, a progressive forum of intellectuals based in New Delhi, celebrated the 5th Prabasi Raja Mahotsab in quintessential Odia style at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) auditorium in the national capital on Wednesday.

Competitions like Jhoti or Chita (the traditional Odia art on the floor and walls), Poda Pitha, Best Odia Woman and Raja Pasn were held for women on the occasion. Besides, traditional games like Raja Doli and Puchi were played.

A fashion show competition was also organized for girl children.

Models Mayuri Das Sara, Fashion analytic Nikhil Kashyap and fashion designer Bipin Nahak were the judges of the competition.

Besides, the best of Odia food items were displayed at the venue.

On this occasion three women achievers – namely educationist Dr. Lapamudra Mohanty, young social activist Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarshini and Sarvodaya leader and social activist Biraja Debi – were conferred with the Mahaka Mo Matira Samman award.

To add more colour to the celebrations, the organizers held a cultural programme, where many artists acclaimed at the national and international levels performed.

A host of intellectuals from different places, including Odisha, took part in the function.
