BJD-TMC-Congress-JD(U) begin talks on Presidential Polls

While the speculations were rife on a possible ‘Grand Alliance’ talk between the opposition parties, JD(U) spokesperson KC Tyagi has confirmed that the actual talks are on the upcoming Presidential Polls.

Earlier, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar met Congress President Sonia Gandhi to seek consensus on a common candidate for the Presidential Polls in India. What transpired in the meeting, is not immediately known.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also met Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik yesterday to discuss the common Presidential candidate. BJP yet to open its cards. So, Opposition parties are making all efforts to reach a consensus and put up a strong candidate on their own.
