BJD MLAs from Jajpur resent non-representation of District in Naveen Cabinet

For the first time in more than a decade, BJD MLAs are coming out in open and raising their concerns and showing dissent albeit in a dignified manner. We can’t call it a revolt, but a resentment is definitely there within the ranks and files of BJD across the State.

Leaders and Cadres from many districts that were neglected in the Ministry Reshuffle have chosen not to hide their discontent. After Sundargarh, Kendrapara, Kalahandi and Sambalpur, it’s the turn of Jajpur to up the ante.

After the exit of most powerful Pranab Prakash Das from the Cabinet, Jajpur has become Minister-less. Amar Prasad Satpathy, who considered himself certain to get a Ministerial berth, was left dejected. Taking advantage of the situation, Bari MLA Debasis Nayak and Binjharpur MLA Pramila Malik met him at his residence.

The trio held discussions for hours. Later, they said that people of Jajpur felt disappointed not to get any Minister from the district.

The resentment came on a day when BJP’s CM aspirant Dharmendra Pradhan held a massive rally and roadshow in Jajpur’s Chandikhol where a strong BJD leader from Barachana, Amar Nayak joined the saffron party along with thousands of supporters.

As the situation is going out of control in Jajpur, it would be interesting to see what Naveen would do to assuage the aspiration of leaders and boost morale of the Cadres.
