Video: Uttar Pradesh Cops Beat Each Other For Front Seat In Patrol Van

Lucknow: A video clip, showing two policemen beating each other black and blue for front seat in a patrol van, has gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred at Bithoor near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. According to a TOI report, the constables deployed on Police Response Vehicle (PRV) UP-100, were fighting with each other for the front seat in the van.

The clip, which was shot by a passerby, shows the Police Response Vehicle (PRV) on the roadside. The policemen, identified as Rajesh Singh and Sunil Kumar, can be seen fist fighting aggressively in the bushes on the side. A third policeman also joins in the fight towards the end of the video and starts beating the other constable.

The video was taken by a passenger of a car, which was crossing the area.

As per the latest reports, both the police officers have been suspended. Officials said the investigation is underway and the constables will remain suspended from the duty till the probe is completed.

Noteworthy, this is not the first time that policemen in Uttar Pradesh have indulged in fights publicly. In a  similar incident, two cops were allegedly caught fighting over bribe in UP’s Prayagraj (Allahabad) recently.
