Bhubaneswar: Beauty queen cum social worker Kalpasa Ankita Shaw from Balasore has recently been awarded for her incessant effort to educate unprivileged children. On the occasion of Nikhila Bharata Swadhinata Sangrami Mahotsav 2019 she received the best social worker award at a function held at the Sangrami Sadan, Bhubaneswar.
Beauty queen Kalpasa is the proud owner of the tag Miss Balasore 2012. She has also bagged many other titles including the Miss Odisha Perfect and Miss Photogenic 2013. However, the other side of the beauty queen is, she is a social worker. Since childhood she is related to social work. She often visits orphanages to educate and spend some time with the inmates. At times she has also provided financial assistance to educate poor children.
Responding to the felicitation Kalpasa said, “I feel privileged for the award. I am humbled, thankful and grateful as well for this precious felicitation. I promise to continue the good work to help out unprivileged children to get them educated. I will continue doing my best to make my state proud.”
Daughter of Rabindranath Shaw and Rasmi Das of Sobharampur, Bidyut Marg of Baleswar, Kalpasa is the founder of Ankita Shaw Foundation through which she extends social service to mostly orphans. Besides, she also works to promote culture and tradition of Odisha.
