Puri: Rath Yatra or the famous car festival of Lord Jagannath is being celebrated today in Puri. The grand event has immense luring elements to witness.
Pahandi, Chherapanhara by the Gajapati and pulling of the chariots are the main elements. Besides, Odissi dance in front of the chariots is a mesmerising happening of the day.
People show their devotion to Lord Jagannath in different ways. A number of devotee groups perform ‘Sankirtan’ on the Badadanda in respect of the holy trinity.
