Railways employees with SBI salary accounts to get insurance cover of Rs 1 cr, check details
The Indian Railways and SBI have signed an MoU after which an accident cover of up to Rs 1 crore is available for the employees of IR
The Indian Railways and State Bank of India (SBI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide insurance cover of upto Rs 1 crore to the Railways employees.
The Railway employees’ having a salary account with the State Bank of India, can avail the benefits of the new personal accident cover of Rs 1 crore. Earlier the limits for Group A employees was Rs 1.20 lakh, for Group B employees it was Rs 60,000 and for Group C employees it is Rs 30,000.
The bank is also providing an additional personal accident cover (permanent partial disability) of up to Rs 80 lakh to the Indian Railway employees.
The Ministry of Railways released a statement saying that its employees holding salary accounts in SBI will receive an insurance cover without paying any premium. The personal accident insurance cover of up to Rs 1 crore will be available to them.
Similarly, an air accident cover of Rs 1.6 crore will be available to them. An additional cover up to Rs 1 crore apart from 1.6 crore for those having a RuPay Debit card in case of air accident (death).
A natural death cover of Rs 10 lakh will also be provided to them without any premium or medical checks.
