Odisha soaked with Christmas fervour

Ahead of Christmas people from all walks of life in the State are soaked in the holiday spirit. Especially preparations for celebrations have already started in the twin cities Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The churches are being renovated and decorated beautifully for the joyous occasion.

Christmas is the festival of love, joy, and brotherhood. It is all about commemorating the birth of Jesus. Churches across the state are seen decorated with lights, candles, Christmas trees, and bells.

In Bhubaneswar, the St Vincent’s Catholic Church in Satya Nagar has been decked up with colourful lights, decorated and lighted stars and bells.

Even Churches, homes of Christian locals and streets in western Odisha that has large Christian population are seen decked up with lights and decorative items. Large numbers of believers are seen thronging to churches.

Keeping the festive mood in mind, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, bakeries and confectionary units are decked up with bright lights and Christmas trees.

Also, security arrangement has been tightened and police have intensified patrolling in Maoist prone and sensitive areas of the state to ensure peaceful celebrations of the occasion.

The Christian community has started preparation to celebrate the festival with more enthusiasm. The grand festival of the Christian community will be marked through different activities ranging from official gatherings to cake cutting accompanied by music and dance.
