Odia Academician receives Best Professor of Data Science award

Cuttack: Odia academician from the State Dr. Bhagirathi Nayak has been awarded the India Education award being adjudged as the Best Professor of Data Science in Odisha at a glittering ceremony in Bengaluru on August 18, 2019.

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan presented the trophy to Dr Nayak in a glittering event in the presence of his family. The event was attended by leading luminaries of the education sector held at the Taj West End hotel in the capital city of Karnataka.

This award show is held annually to felicitate academicians who have achieved excellence in their respective areas in the previous academic year.

Odia Academician Dr. Nayak is at present working as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management Studies in the Sri Sri University in Cuttack. He spent the major part of his glorious academic career at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.

This is yet another feather in the cap of the educationist who has been in the field for more than two decades.

A result oriented professional with an experience of 25 years from IIT Kharagpur in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, Management, Database Designer and Developer, Teaching, Academic, Administration, and Pedagogical Activities, he has been the recipient of other laurels, including the Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Research Centre Award (eponymously instituted in the honor of India’s former President) for his contribution in the field of Data Science on 22nd July 2019 at in Hyderabad. Dr. Nayak has received two patents in the United States in the area of Computer Science and Engineering in the month of June. He has also published three papers in Scopus Indexed International Journals this year.
